Manimonday: COMME DES GARÇON inspired mani.
Ahay, it would’ve looked cooler if I didn’t have to keep my nails short.

"Real raw emotional love, surpasses a bouquet of roses and a teddy bear fairytale. There is nothing better than a person who drives you completely off the walls but can love you the way Christ loved the church. It is beautiful and it is out there, I promise."

I’ve been feeling a little discouraged today for no reason. So i thought I’d pour it all out on a 5min design.

Oh man. You really have to turn that frown, Claire.

How to successfully save $1378 in 52 weeks.
Aha! I hope this caught your attention because really, it only starts with $1. And yes, that is right… It’s one of those 52 week challenges you see floating around on Tumblr every end of the year. I’ve attempted many different kinds of challenges but I always end up failing halfway because of my lack of motivation, so I thought why not start a different one, (a non-artistic related type of challenge) perhaps, this might be your forte!

In the summer of 2013, I have started saving up for nothing (lame right? I know.) and of course, I’ve noticed most people have used mason jars as their piggy banks (fancy, fancy, pinterest me!) I’ve done it too but a lamer version, not so pretty-looking-worth-posting jar. It was, in fact, done because I have an intention of actually accomplishing that goal… at first, I threw it like (oh, pft. I’m gonna save up just for the fun of it and then figure out later what I want to spend it on) I was pretty tight with it though I had  moments where I didn’t have enough money for emergency usage, I borrowed a wee bit from my jar…what I mean borrowed is when it’s payday, I put back the same amount of money I took out of that jar; And from doing so, I learned how to budget my salary; As a college student, it is a big big big of a deal to know how to save and spend wisely. College is pretty much the preparation phase of facing life independently. I also learned to ask myself “Do I need this?” when buying stuff. I had fun being tempted (sounds weird) from taking money out of my jar, but at the same time it was rewarding that knowing I can really control myself from spending on knicknacks.
Disclaimer: I am by no means a financial adviser, I am just like you… an individual tempted to spend on stuff s/he doent even need…(e.g. just cause)

It’s starts with $1! The first week you deposit $1 into your savings account or if you prefer, a piggy bank. The 2nd week you deposit $2, the 3rd week you deposit $3. The 4th week you deposit $4 and so on. Got it? So by the 52nd week’s deposit($52) you’ll have accumulated $1378!
Here’s the chart I’ve made:

This will not only help me get motivated but will also benefit me in the long run of really learning how to save. Yes, mom! and merci merci! Your daughter is definitely learning.

Happy Saving, 2014! (:
